Chinese smartphone brand OPPO unveiled the flagship OPPO Find X back in June this year. Now Oppo has unveiled its Find X 5G Prototype capable of 5G connectivity at the 2018 China Mobile Global Partners Conference.
The Oppo Find X 5G smartphone prototype features a Snapdragon 855 and X50 5G modem. At the event, Oppo, Qualcomm and Keysight Technologies demonstrated 5G data connectivity and applications including browsing, online video streaming and video calling using the Find X 5G prototype.
Brian Shen, OPPO Global Vice President and President of China Business, said at the conference, We are confident OPPO will be one of the first companies to launch commercial 5G smartphones in 2019.
OPPO is a strategic partner of China Mobile, a leading Chinese telecom operator, their mission is to jointly develop the technologies required for successful innovation, development and implementation of 5G network connectivity across the world.
The company has stated that it plans to launch 5G enabled smartphones in markets outside China by 2019, and is already in talks with major telecom operators across international markets for doing so. OPPO has been working on 5G products since 2015 and now it has achieved significant success this year.
