Samsung distributes free Galaxy S9 in a town called Appel

Samsung and Apple are the biggest competitors in the international smartphone market. While Apple enjoys a more loyal fanbase than Samsung thats why Samsung often thinks out of the box when it comes to the marketing.

Now, Samsung has come up with a new marketing stunt that took place in Appel. Yes you read it right, Appel is a small town with only 312 residents in Netherlands. Samsung representatives drove around in vans, giving away free Galaxy S9s to 50 of Appels residents.

The residents of Appel are happy to get a free Samsung Galaxy S9, with some in total shock at the news. Samsung took help from an 18 year old Apple fan in the village named Manouk to carry out the campaign.

With our innovative products and services, we have been off the beaten track for years to make everyday life more fun and easy. With this marketing campaign we do exactly the same. We are off the beaten track to get our message across. Our goal is to introduce as many people as possible to the possibilities of the Samsung Galaxy S9, said Gerben van Walt Meijer, Marketing Manager for Samsung Mobiles in the Netherlands.
