Xiaomi has just announced the Redmi Note 7 at a special event in Beijing. The company also hinted a Redmi Note 7 Pro variant which will launch later at the Chinese New Year, which is going to start from 5th of February. The company has not yet announced an exact launch date for the device.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro is currently under development stages and is going to be the premium handset under Redmi Note series. The company is said to be housing the 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor in the upcoming Redmi Note 7 Pro smartphone, the sensor was announced by Sony in July last year.
The current Redmi Note 7 is equipped with Samsungs ISOCELL Bright GMI 48MP sensor. While, Sonys 48MP sensor is created keeping resolution and low light performance in mind as it is a stacked CMOS unit with a quad Bayer design.
The lens is 1/2 inches in size, which is a bit larger than the conventional imaging sensors used in various smartphones. Each pixel measures 0.8μm on the Sony sensor and by combining adjacent pixels, the effective pixel pitch of the final output is 1.6μm.
