After 10 years of using sweet names for the Android OS, Google simply calls the next version Android 10

As we all know Google names its Android versions with some sweets name, the first Android OS was named Cupcake, the second one was called Donut, while the Google named the third one Eclair, then it was followed by Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly bean, Kitkat, Lollypop, Marshmallow, Nougat, Oreo and the latest version of Android is called Pie.

Now, according to the latest reports, it seems like Google is changing its naming strategy from the next Android Version. It will give up on naming the future versions Android OS with sweets and will simply name them with the number of release. The next version of Android is slated to release within few weeks and Google has announced that it will be called Android 10.

A new logo for the next phase of Android versions has also been unveiled. The Android Robot can be seen in light green vector while the Android moniker is black this time. The name change of Google Android version goes along with the strategy of Google to make things more sleek and simpler in the future versions of Android.

Geeks were expecting that Google will name its next Android Version with a sweet starting from Q that's why they dubbed the next version as Android Q, but now it is clear that Google is following a different strategy regarding the name this time around. The existing devices eligible for Android 10 will be updated in the fourth quarter of 2019 and first quarter of 2020.
