Google has been one of the notable companies to build AI into a lot of its consumer software products. Users of Google's Gboard are about to see their keyboard get a lot smarter. Google announced that keyboard will now use artificial intelligence to recommend GIFs, emoji and stickers based on the context of the conversation you're having.
The feature would be processed entirely on the user's device to ensure that these suggestions are private and are incorporated in conversations as quickly as possible. The feature has first been released for Android users globally only in English language.
Google claims Gboard is using AI to scour thousands of emoji and stickers for the right ones, but its mainly going off of the keywords you use. So say you mention a birthday or a dance, Gboard would find the relevant stickers and GIFs to reflect that.
To access the Gboard recommended GIFs, simply tap the GIF icon when it appears in the top left hand corner of the Gboard. Tap it, and you will see a range of GIFs, stickers, and emojis that Gboard guesses you might want to use. The company has also put in lot of effort in improving customization and personalization of the keyboard.
