Not very long ago, HTC was one of the key brand for an smartphone buyer. But in the recent years HTCs sales have gone down and even the companies financial figures are in very bad condition. It would not come as a surprise if the company eventually calls it quits. But despite continued losses, scandals that rocked its hierarchy, and whispers that say HTC is shutting down its mobile division, HTC says it still believes in smartphones and will continue making and launching such products.
The smartphone manufacturer has reportedly said that it is contemplating to launch a 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant of HTC U12 life by the end of 2018. HTC said it will not give up its handset business as it believes that the handset has become indispensable to human life and that the related key VR technology will play a key role for the future development of mobile devices report claims.
After the unlikely resurgence of the Nokia and BlackBerry brands, fans of the company behind the first ever Android smartphone may have held out hope of a similar revival. Rumors have it that HTC U13 is also in the pipeline and slated to release in early 2019. The company will continue to optimise its VR platform, alongside developments in augmented reality.
