Huawei has confirmed through an official Press Release that it is going to unveil Nova 7i on 14th of February. The smartphone is going to be the first in Nova 7 series, but it is not entirely a new device. Nova 7i is going to be a rebranded version of Nova 6 SE which was launched in December 2019. So basically, the Global markets will receive Nova 6 SE as Nova 7i.
Some of the specifications of the device has already been revealed by the company and we can easily guess others by looking at the Nova 6 SE on which the upcoming smartphone is going to be based on. The Nova 7i will feature a 6.4-inch IPS LCD screen with Full HD + resolution. The display panel will have a punch hole cutout on the upper left corner to house the front camera.
Nova 7i is going to be powered by Huawei's own Kirin 810 processor paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. It runs Android 10 with EMUI custom skin on top but it won't be arriving with Google Mobile Services (GMS) due to the US trade ban, so the users must get used to of Huawei AppGallery and other Google Service alternatives developed by Huawei.
In terms of photography, the Nova 7i features a quad camera setup on the back comprising of 48MP main shooter, an 8MP ultrawide sensor, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. While on the front, it sports a 16MP camera for selfies housed inside the punch hole cutout. The smartphone will have a side mounted fingerprint scanner for biometric security.
Huawei Nova 7i will include a 4,200mAh battery with 40W fast charging support. The smartphone will not include a 3.5mm headphone jack and users will have to rely on the USB Type-C port only. The new smartphone by Huawei is expected to come with a price tag of somewhere around $300. We will know more about the device upon its official launch on 14th of February.
