Huawei sues parent company of Infinix and Tecno, Transsions Holdings over IP theft in China

Chinese handset manufacturer Transsions Holdings has been slammed by a lawsuit filed by Huawei. The lawsuit presented by Huawei alleges Transsions Holdings of an intellectual property infringement. Huawei has reportedly claimed for RMB 20 million from Transsion Holdings and its five subsidiaries for patent right infringement.

Transsion Holdings is a Hong Kong based company mainly focused on smartphone manufacturing under Infinix, Tecno and iTel mobile phone banners. The company also made its debut in Shanghai Stock Exchange by doing IPO in STAR market which is a board for tech stocks by Shanghai Stock Exchange.

Transsion Holdings has a great market presence in African region but it is still trying hard to capture the Chinese market where Huawei is an undisputed King in the smartphone and technology segment. Transsion has 630 patents and 286 computer software copyrights to its name in China while its Huawei has over 100,000 patents.

Details of the Lawsuit has not been made public but the amount suggests that the matter is not very big. Transsion has shared its stats which suggests that the lawsuit has not affected the company's IPO. But it's evident that Transition has now have to invest in R&D and patent development to avoid any further trouble.
