Just a few days back Huawei has announced to enter the Smart TV market, in which Xiaomi has already stepped into. Huawei has re established its TV project team and has started contacting the upstream panel makers. Huawei aims to launch its first Smart TV by the end of this year.
Huawei has plans to launch a whole smart home ecosystem, for which Smart TV is an essential part after the Smartphones that Huawei already builds. On the other hand Xiaomi already has a whole lot of products that combined make a smart home ecosystem.
So the interesting thing to observe here is that could Huawei beat Xiaomi and become the bigger Smart TV player in the market? Or Xiaomi has to step up the game to compete Huawei's TV line. Time will tell and the response to Huawei's TV will predict if the product has potential, but right now Xiaomi seems to be ahead of Huawei.
