There have been rumours circulating on the internet over a few days that Oppo Find Z will be the next premium smartphone of the Chinese manufacturer that will be the successor of the Find X.
However, OPPO Vice President Shen Yiren has clarified that there is no phone named Find Z is currently in the pipeline. While it does not mean the series is dead. Instead, it simply means that the next smartphone will come with another name.
In a post on Chinese social media site Weibo, Yiren said OPPO has changed the name of the Find series to Find X, but the rumours of a smartphone by the name of Find Z are not true.
Hence, it is clear that no smartphone from Oppo is under development, while information about the handset has been leaked a couple of times in the past few months. In fact, the company had trademarked the Find Z name with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).
Whatever the new smartphone flagship by Oppo may be named, the next device in the Find X series is rumoured to come with Snapdragon 855 SoC. It is expected to run the Android Pie based ColorOS 6.0 software and support Super VOOC fast charging.
